Giuliano Fujiwara SS10 – Milan

This spring/summer collection for Giuliano Fujiwara creative directed by Masataka Matsumura shows much promise, but falls short of being something really special. The colors here are generally bold and there is a good mix of pieces from sheer delicate items to militaristic structured outwear. I can see some early raf in some of the pieces (particularly the oversized bomber and the sandals) and helmut lang influence in the bondage suspenders.
That being said though there is simply too much going on in this collection. While boldly color items are always nice come summertime the patterns here are simply too schizophrenic to show any cohesion between each outfit. It just feels like this collection is trying to be too much to too many people. I haven’t really decided if the sneakers are interesting or just plain hideous yet, all I know is that I can’t shake the feeling that they remind me of Air Yeezys.
